5. Conolly2 McCAUSLAND (Col. Robert1) was born in Ireland on 21 November 1713. Conolly died on 27 June 1794 in Ireland, at 80 years of age.

He married Elizabeth GAGE on 10 February 1742 in Ireland. Elizabeth was born in 1718 in Ireland. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas GAGE. Elizabeth died in 1791 in Ireland, at 73 years of age. She was the "only daughter and eventual sole heiress to her brother, Hodson Gage, of Bellarena, Co Derry". He was "of Fruit Hill".

Conolly McCAUSLAND and Elizabeth GAGE had the following children:

child 8 i. Robert3 McCAUSLAND was born in 1743.

child 9 ii. Thomas McCAUSLAND < was born in 1745. Thomas died in 1747 at 2 years of age.

child 10 iii. Sarah McCAUSLAND was born in 1746.

child 11 iv. John McCAUSLAND < was born in 1749. John died in 1769 at 20 years of age.

child 12 v. Hannah McCAUSLAND was born on 3 October 1751. Hannah died in 1826 at 74 years of age. She married William LECKY on 11 November 1778. He was the "MP for Derry".

child 13 vi. Elizabeth McCAUSLAND < was born on 16 April 1753. Elizabeth died in 1800 at 47 years of age. She married Thomas SKIPTON in 1776. He was "of Beech Hill (Skipton Hall), Ballyshaskey, Co Derry". She "died dsp".

child + 14 vii. Conolly McCAUSLAND-GAGE was born on 3 August 1754.

child 15 viii. Marcus GAGE was born on 28 August 1755. Marcus died in 1815 at 59 years of age. He married Julia STERLING on 24 January 1788. Julia died in 1839. He was of "Bellarena, Magilligan, Co Derry". He "survived his mother and assumed the surname Gage in lieu of his patronymic". He appears to have also inhereted the Bellarena estate which his mother had inhereted from her brother, Hodson Gage.

child 16 ix. Sarah McCAUSLAND was born on 27 January 1759. Sarah died in 1823 at 64 years of age. She married George Crookshank KENNEDY-SKIPTON on 19 September 1777. George died on 31 January 1819. He "assumed the additional prefix surname of Skipton upon succeding to the Skipton Hall estate".

child 17 x. Sydney McCAUSLAND < was born on 25 March 1760. He "died young".

child 18 xi. Rebecca McCAUSLAND was born in 1763.
