He married Sarah Emeline MITCHELL 19 Jan 1865 in Panora, Guthrie County, IA. Sarah was born circa 1841 in Lake City, Calhoun County, IA.⁽²⁸⁰⁾ Sarah died on 10 September 1888 in Lake City, Calhoun County, IA, at 47 years of age.⁽²⁸¹⁾

He was listed in 1856 in the Iowa State census in Rawls Township, Mills County, IA(age 15).⁽²⁸²⁾
