20. John T(apper?)³ QUINN (John², John¹ QUIN) was born in Ohio circa 1810. John died on or about 1 January 1848 in Morgan County, IN, at approximately 37 years of age.⁽⁸⁸⁾

He married Mary (Polly) OYLER circa 1835. Mary was born on 23 January 1814 in Franklin County, VA.⁽⁸⁹⁾ Mary was the daughter of Valentine OYLER and Catherine WYSONG. Mary died on 7 July 1865 in Randolph County, IN, at 51 years of age.⁽⁹⁰⁾ Her body was interred July 1865 Mount Zion Cemetary in Randolph County, IN.⁽⁹¹⁾ in Mount Zion Cemetary

She was listed on 31 July 1850 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 35).⁽⁹²⁾ She was listed on 12 June 1860 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 47, born in Virginia).⁽⁹³⁾

John Quinn's wife is referred to as Elizabeth in the settlement records of his father'estate, 11 May 1841, but other indications are that her name was Mary. In the 1850 census records, Mary Quinn, with her daughter, Cynthia, and other children, was living with Joseph Neff in Randolph Co, IN. In the 1860 census she is listed with him as Mary Neff. Randolph Co marriage records indicate that Mary Quinn married Joseph Neff on 2 June 1850. Cynthia Quinn's death certificate clearly notes that her father was John Quinn and her mother was Mary Oyler. Since Mary Quinn Neff's youngest child, Margaret J. Quinn, was 3 in the 1850 census, this would indicate that John T. Quinn died - or otherwise vanished - between 1846 and 1850.

It is possible that Mary Quinn was John T. Quinn's second wife; Elizabeth being his first, and Joseph's mother. Interestingly, a Betsey Quinn married Thomas Knight in Delaware Co, IN on 17 March 1836, two months before Cynthia Quinn was born to John T. and Mary Quinn. However, no marriage or divorce records have been found to indicate such an earlier marriage between John T. and Betsey, nor has a marriage record been found for John T. and Mary Oyler.

John T(apper?) QUINN and Mary (Polly) OYLER had the following children:

Jonathan QUINN was born in Indiana about 1841.⁽⁹⁴⁾ Jonathan died after 1865.⁽⁹⁵⁾ He was listed on 31 July 1850 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 9).⁽⁹⁶⁾ He was listed on 19 June 1860 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 19).⁽⁹⁷⁾ He was living with the David P. Hiatt family.

Esther QUINN < was born in Indiana about 1844.⁽⁹⁸⁾ Esther died before 1865.⁽⁹⁹⁾ She was listed on 31 July 1850 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 5).⁽¹⁰⁰⁾ She was listed on 12 June 1860 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 16).⁽¹⁰¹⁾

80 iv. Margaret J. QUINN was born in Indiana about 1846.⁽¹⁰²⁾ Margaret died after 1865.⁽¹⁰³⁾ She was listed on 31 July 1850 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 3).⁽¹⁰⁴⁾ She was listed on 12 June 1860 in the Federal census in Washington Township, Randolph County, IN(age 14).⁽¹⁰⁵⁾
