49. John5 McCausland (William4, James3, William2, James1) was born in Near Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Ireland 9 October 1839.(8) John died 26 July 1928 in 339 Jefferson Ave., Downingtown, Pa, at 88 years of age.(9) His body was interred in Hopewell Church, Chester County, Pa.
He married Jane Lindsey in Eight U. Presbyterian, Philadelphia, Pa, 17 November 1864.(10) Jane was born in Co. Tyrone, Near Castlederry, Ireland 1844.(11) Jane was the daughter of Thomas Lindsey and Margaret Kincaid. Jane died 13 December 1918 in 339 Jefferson Ave., Downingtown, Pa, at 74 years of age.(12) Her body was interred 17 December 1918 in Hopewell Church, Chester County, Pa.(13) Her obit had her born in 1842 (she was 76 when she died).
Occupation: Farmer. Enlisted 5 September 1861 in Phil. Served 3 years as a private under Capt. Wheeland & Col Rush in Co. C. 6th Pa. Volunteer Cavalry. Was one of the far famed Rush's Lancers. Honorably discharged 14 Sep 1864, at Harper's Ferry, at expiration of service, and was a member of Hancock Post No. 255 G.A.R. in Downingtown Pa. Farmer at Lyndell, Pa. Later in Glen Loch near Guthriesville. He was wounded in the march to Gettysburg. Though a small man, he was mighty in courage and strength, and many interesting tales are told of his prowess and daring. On one occasion during his army service John McCausland was cornered in a lonely building with an enemy much larger than himself. He seized a section of stove pipe and used it as a weapon with which he successfully beat off his antagonist and escaped. John McCausland was known as one of the best farmers in Chester County. 'Twas said that he was the first to stake up his tomatoes instead of letting them trail on the ground. Other local farmers thought him slightly crazy until they saw his tomatoes, and adopted his plan.

April 1860.(16) Penrose was the son of John
Darlington and Hannah B. Burgoyne. Penrose died 1935 at 75 years of age.(17) His body was interred in Hopewell Church, Chester County, Pa.(18) Occupation: Farmer. Lived in Honey Brook, PA.
Occupation: Fashionable Dressmaker. Lived Coatesville, Pennsylvania, R.F.D. No 3 in 1911. In Martin's Corner in 1928.

Mary (Mame) Adel McCausland was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19 June 1870.(19) Mary died 25 March 1950 in Memorial Hospital, West Chester, Pa, at 79
years of age.(20) Her body was interred in Hopewell
Church, Chester County, Pa.(21) Occupation: Took care of
father. Took care of her father until his death. She was a great lover of flowers and an expert at growing them (she did some business in
this.) Member of the Hopewell Methodist church and a secretary for many years of the Lyndell Grange. Prominent in the Christian Temperance
League.

Occupation: Carpentry. Lived Glen Loch, PA (1911). Was a member of the Lyndell Grange. Died in an accident while at work on a farm. He was
raising a piece of lumber and made a misstep which threw him to the ground and crushed the back of his head.
