46. Mary5 McCausland (William4, James3, William2, James1) was born in Co. Tyrone, Ireland 10 March 1834. Mary died 6 September 1911 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at 77 years of age. Her body was interred in Mt Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia.
She married James Young in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 17 July 1854. James was born in Co. Tyrone, Ireland. James was the son of William Young and Catherine _. James died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Occupation: Policeman. Came to US when young and became a Philadelphia policeman. At the time Fox was elected Mayor, there was great trouble and rioting at the election polls. He was assigned to duty at the corner of 8th & Lumber streets, to protect the ballot box. Just as the polls were closing a mob of more than a hundred men rushed the booth. The outer police guard fled like the cowards they were. Young never moved. He said he would do his duty till the last and he did. Some ruffian in the crowd shot him 4 times and he died 16 hrs later at age 38 Many of the McCausland's and Young's are buried in the same place. Children are tall, of light complexion and gentlemanly and ladylike in bearing.

James McCausland Young was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 30 November 1859. While walking home along a
railroad track in the country during a blizzard, he fell in a hole in the dark and broke his leg above the knee. He crawled on his stomach
thru the deep snow and sleet for 5 miles to the nearest house, an exhibition of grit and fortitude that few men could show. Was unmarried as
of 1911.
