4. Col. William Conrad³ FAITHFULL (Richard Coventry², William¹)⁽²⁾ was born inHampshire, England 1782. William died 16 March 1838 at 55 years of age.⁽³⁾ Died on board the Cornwall on his passage from India to the Cape.

He married Maria AGG 26 June 1805 in Calcutta, India. Maria was born CA 1786. Maria died 2April 1851 in Calcutta, India, at 64 years of age.

He was baptized 26 December 1782 in Winchester, Hampshire, England. Baptised at St. John's Church, near Winchester. Colonel William Conrad Faithfull was a career officer with the Army of the East India Company. A summary of his service record follows:

His reasonably fast promotions and the C.B award indicate that he was a successful officer. It is not know why he was posted to the Cape shortly before his death at sea. It would seem quite possible that he would eventually have been a General had he completed his service.

His will confirms that he came from Hampshire and owned property in Winchester. The name seems to be spelled either Faithful or Faithfull depending upon the particular record.

12vii.Augusta Sultana FAITHFULL was born in India 16 February 1821.⁽¹¹⁾ She was christened 14 November 1821 in the Church of England in Benares, India.⁽¹²⁾

13viii.Susannah FAITHFULL was born in India 3 March 1823.⁽¹³⁾ She was christened 16 October 1823 in the Church of England in Benares, India.⁽¹⁴⁾
